Founded in 1999 by Djahari Clark, Desert Sin continues to use experimentation, artist collaboration, impassioned creativity and a general joy of living to maintain itself as an inspirational and ground-breaking dance/theater company. Fusing the intricacies of Desert Sin's dance origins with a wide array of other art forms, drama, and dazzling effects a style emerges like no other creating a superior theatrical experience.
Desert Sin would like to bridge the difference between cultures, genders, and social classes through theatre, dance, performance art, puppetry and spectacle. We believe these are vital art forms, speaking a universal and highly visual language, which inspire and transform its audience and its members. We work in a collaborative process with all forms of artists, visiting and community based, bringing the opportunity and demand that our work continue to defy our own sense of the possible and further educate everyone involved. Together we create theater that speaks from our hearts. Desert Sin’s members are all multi-faceted performers, and an inspiration to each other.
We have gained international popularity from appearances in theaters, festivals, nightclubs, film, television, and special events. We have been featured on HBO, Wild West Tech, and India TV. Desert Sin tours internationally with performances and workshops and has just finished their 2008 critically acclaimed Off-Broadway run of "Musée des Femmes" at the Zipper Theater. We are currently in development for our next full-length production coming soon!
